Flat panel radar water level gauge converts water depth by detecting the distance between the water surface and the radar sensor: the radar water level gauge antenna emits frequency modulated continuous radar waves, which are reflected back and received by the same antenna when encountering the surface of the measured medium. Due to the frequency delay effect generated during the detection process, that is, the frequency difference between the transmitted signal and the target echo signal at the same time caused by time delay, the distance from the antenna to the surface of the measured medium can be calculated.
