Overall structure

  • The cabinet has a three-layer frame wall structure, which is sturdy and stable
  • The inner chamber is made of 304 stainless steel with concave rounded corners. Optional upgrade to 316 stainless steel.
  • Chain wheel door frame support system.
  • The fume hood lighting equipment is pre powered. The lighting equipment is electronically loaded, efficient and energy-saving, and can start instantly in an environment without external interference. The standard illuminance of the workbench is>1076Lux.
  • The reinforced workbench can support loads up to 15 kN/m ² (2.175 lbf/in2).

Security protection measures

  • The integrated airflow channels on both sides of the fume hood enhance pollution control performance, especially when laboratory personnel move in front of the fume hood.
  • Limit the opening height of the front window to more than 457 millimeters (18 inches) to ensure that users operate in a safe position.
  • When the current window height exceeds 457 millimeters (18 inches), it will automatically slowly fall back to a safe height (ESCO anti front window frame sliding mechanism), unless fixed at a certain height with a key. The front window can be temporarily fully opened for the installation of equipment and devices inside the fume hood, while forcing the front window to be fixed at a safe height.
  • The sliding of the door frame can only be prevented with a key, restricting laboratory managers or security personnel from operating when the height of the front window exceeds 457 millimeters (18 inches).
  • The door frame key lock allows laboratory administrators to restrict unauthorized use of fume hoods.
  • The key can be used to lock the door frame in the fully closed position, in case of fume hood failure, equipment shutdown, or simple restriction of equipment assembly inside the fume hood.

  • All countertops in the stainless steel internal work area are easy to clean.
  • The movable baffle facilitates thorough cleaning of the interior of the fume hood.
  • The hinged door frame system requires minimal maintenance.

Security certification and testing

  • All Esco fume hoods are manufactured according to strict laboratory requirements.
  • Each acid digestion fume hood has been tested according to ASHRAE 110:1995 and EN14175-3 certification standards.
  • The door frame is clearly marked with operating instructions.
