The TCG-JY rainfall sensor is an instrument used to automatically measure precipitation, mainly composed of a water receiver, filter funnel, tipping bucket, reed switch, base, and dedicated measuring cup. The precipitation flows into the tipping bucket through a water receiver and a filtering bucket. When a certain amount of rainwater flows into the tipping bucket, the tipping bucket flips and empties out the water in the bucket. The other bucket of the tipping bucket starts to receive water again. Each flipping action of the tipping bucket is converted into a pulse signal through a reed switch and transmitted to the collection system.

The tipping bucket rain sensor is suitable for meteorological stations, hydrological stations, agriculture and forestry, national defense, high-speed public transportation, railways and other relevant departments to measure liquid precipitation, precipitation intensity, and precipitation start and end time.
