Product Introduction
The photoconductive antenna is a commonly used THz generation and detection device in THz time-domain spectrometers, and its production process has become mature. In the 1980s, the father of terahertz, D. Grischkowski, and others used photoconductive antennas to generate THz radiation. This method has developed to become a relatively common experimental method. As shown in the figure below, the dipole antenna structure is fabricated on GaAs grown at low temperature. The antenna device is excited by ultra short pulses with photon energy greater than the bandgap width of GaAs. Electron hole pairs are generated inside the semiconductor, and these carriers will accelerate under the action of an external electric field to form a transient current, thereby radiating THz pulses.
