What is the difference between tungsten rings and hard alloy rings?
Some manufacturers sell tungsten rings that do not contain hard alloy (however, some retailers still refer to them as hard alloy, so you need to be careful). A tungsten ring is essentially a steel ring. It is very hard, but it cannot prevent scratches. Only diamonds or products containing mineral corundum materials can scratch hard alloy rings.
