1、 Product Introduction
Plate and frame filter press was the first mechanical application in chemical dehydration. Although plate and frame filter presses are generally operated intermittently, require large investment in infrastructure equipment, and have low filtration capacity, they are still widely used in some small-scale sewage treatment plants due to their advantages such as high filtration driving force, high solid content of filter cake, clear filtrate, high solid recovery rate, and low consumption of conditioning drugs.
2、 Design
Design requirements for plate and frame filter press
(1) The filtration pressure is 0.4~0.6MPa (approximately 4~6kg/cm2);
(2) The filtration cycle shall not exceed 4 hours;
(3) Each filter can be equipped with one sludge injection pump, and the pump should be of the plunger type;
(4) The compressed air volume is not less than 2m3/min per 1m3 of filter chamber (calculated according to standard operating conditions);
(5) Attention should be paid to good ventilation, high-pressure flushing system, setting of sludge grinder before conditioning, and setting of sludge cake crusher after pressure filtration for plate and frame dewatering.
The design method of filter press dewatering mainly calculates the sludge cake yield, required filter press area and number of units based on the sludge treatment capacity, dewatering sludge concentration, filter press working program, filter press pressure, etc.
